Wendy has enjoyed a long and varied career as an Occupational Therapist. Her 25+ years of experience began at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, working in such diverse settings as inpatient, pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation, oncology, neurology, orthopedics, inpatient pain management and work conditioning. She has worked in hospitals, outpatient clinics and home health settings. She enjoys the dynamic nature of treating people with their unique issues and helping them to regain and improve their quality of life.
Wendy has training in oncology rehab, treating upper extremity, head and neck lymphedema, scar management issues and various complications of cancer treatment. Other areas of special interest and training are UE orthopedic problems, hand issues including arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome. Wendy provides in-clinic driving assessments to evaluate patients’ safety behind the wheel and to provide counseling for continued access within the community.
Wendy and her husband moved to Port Townsend in 1998. With her prior degree in gerontology, she is a great fit for Jefferson county. She finds great satisfaction in working in a small community and helping people to "grow old gracefully." Wendy loves growing and sharing good food, raising chickens, and being physically active in the outdoors, and the pleasure of a good book.
Education: BS in Occupational Therapy University of Puget Sound, BS in gerontology and therapeutic recreation.
